Nigerian men dying to impress side chicks – Experts expose dark truth about sex enhancers

Experts are raising alarm over the increasing number of Nigerian men who collapse and die during sexual activities—especially with women who are not their wives. These cases mostly happen in hotels and have been traced to the misuse of sex-enhancing drugs.

One of the latest cases involves a lecturer from Kogi State University, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle. He reportedly died after checking into a hotel with a lady named Miss Helen Raymond.

According to Clinical Psychologist and Mental Health Therapist, Mcfredericks Akor Edache, many men use sex enhancers to impress women, but doing so can be deadly. He explained that these drugs often cause prolonged erections and delayed climax, which can put the body under extreme stress.

He noted that sex is naturally enjoyable when it begins with proper foreplay, which helps prepare both partners. The sexual response usually starts with gentle touching and builds naturally. Using enhancers interferes with this process and can push the body beyond its limits.

Edache emphasized that women are less likely to get exhausted during sex compared to men, which is why men often fall asleep after intercourse. He advised men not to feel pressured if a woman calls them weak or a “one-minute man.”

He added that while the first round of sex is usually the most satisfying, men often try to go multiple rounds just to impress women. This pressure leads them to use enhancement drugs that increase blood flow to the private parts. However, this may reduce blood flow to vital organs like the brain and heart—leading to breathing problems or death.

Edache also pointed out that sexual satisfaction doesn’t depend on performance alone. Proper foreplay helps both partners reach climax around the same time. He advised men to be more patient and less focused on impressing women with performance-enhancing drugs.

A lecturer from Kwara State, Hassan Alowonle, also shared his thoughts. He said sex is a natural act, but many men now die from it, turning what should be pleasure into tragedy. He noted that some Nigerians blame such deaths on witchcraft, but the real issue may be poor health or the use of harmful substances.

He stressed the importance of medical checks before engaging in sex or getting married. Just like with exercise, people need to know their physical health status, especially their heart condition, before having sex. For someone with heart problems, the extra strain from sex can be fatal.

Alowonle also warned that intense sexual activity raises heart rate and blood pressure, which are dangerous for people with health issues. He explained that some men get too excited when they finally get the chance to sleep with a woman they’ve been fantasizing about. That excitement can lead to using too much energy—and in some cases, sudden death.

He blamed the growing market of sexual performance products, saying that the high expectations from some women make men feel pressured to perform beyond their natural abilities. This leads many men to use drugs or herbs without considering the side effects on their health.

Divine Mike Akor, a chemist and public affairs commentator, also spoke out. He said the growing cases of men dying during hotel sex are alarming. He blamed it on infidelity and the loss of moral values.

Akor warned that using sex-enhancing drugs to please side chicks is extremely dangerous. These drugs often raise blood pressure and affect the heart. He pointed out that many of these men don’t die while with their wives—but rather with strangers whose background they know nothing about.

He also questioned the safety of being intimate with people you hardly know. According to him, some of these ladies may have dark spiritual backgrounds, and some of the men are older and no longer have the strength to match the energy of younger, hyperactive women.

Akor called for a return to moral discipline and faithfulness in marriage. He urged men to be content with their partners instead of chasing risky pleasure. He also advised that the use of performance-enhancing drugs should be reduced or avoided because of their dangerous effects on health.
