There had been talk online suggesting that Yusuf Datti might have left Peter Obi and was planning to contest the 2027 presidential election on his own. Some even claimed he had officially parted ways with Obi after attending a Labour Party NEC meeting hosted by Julius Abure. Those who support Obi, however, found the claims laughable.

To clear any doubt and show unity, Peter Obi paid a visit to Yusuf Datti in Abuja. Alongside that visit, Obi also met with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu.

The meetings sparked public interest, especially because these political figures belong to different parties—Datti from Labour Party, El-Rufai now associated with ADC, and Babangida Aliyu from PDP. The visit suggests that Obi is maintaining relationships across political lines ahead of the 2027 elections.
