Trump says he will not destroy Elon Musk’s companies

US President Donald Trump has said he will not destroy Elon Musk’s companies by removing government support. He insisted that he wants Musk’s businesses to grow and succeed.

In a message shared on social media, Trump denied claims that he plans to remove large subsidies given to Musk’s companies by the U.S. government. He said, “I want Elon, and all businesses within our country, to thrive.”

This statement came after a public disagreement between Trump and Musk on June 5, which was centered around tax policies. Musk had recently told Tesla investors that without continued support from the U.S. government, the company could face some difficult financial times in the coming months.

Just a week after their argument, the White House reportedly told the Defense Department and NASA to look into the billions of dollars in contracts given to SpaceX. This move raised fears that Trump may be planning to punish Musk’s companies.

Musk had earlier supported Trump’s reelection campaign with over $250 million in donations. He also took on a temporary role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, where he worked to reduce spending and trim down the federal workforce. Musk stepped down from the position in late May to focus more on his tech businesses.

However, things went sour shortly after. Musk publicly criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill. In response, Trump threatened to cancel valuable government contracts given to Musk’s companies.

SpaceX had been one of the leading companies expected to work on Trump’s $175 billion missile defense program, the Golden Dome project. But now, due to the growing tension between Trump and Musk, government officials are said to be looking at other companies as possible replacements.

Despite all this, Trump says he still wants Musk’s companies to do well, and that he has no plans to harm them by removing support.
