Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts after his team’s 1-0 win over AC Milan in a preseason match on Wednesday night.
He spoke about Kai Havertz, who just returned to action after being injured during the second half of last season. Arteta was glad to have him back on the team.
Arteta said Havertz played well and looked sharp. The German forward is in good shape and working hard, according to the coach.
During his post-match press chat, Arteta explained that Havertz found space several times in the game, but the passes didn’t reach him. That was why he didn’t get a goal.
He also mentioned that Havertz had already scored in a previous preseason game against Watford. The coach believes his overall effort was strong and was happy with his contribution.
Arsenal’s next preseason games are against Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Villarreal. After that, they will play Athletic Bilbao in the Emirates Cup.
Arteta is using these matches to prepare the team for their Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 17.
