Nollywood actress and popular TV host, Nancy Isime, has shared a touching story about her hard beginnings as a young girl working to survive.
At just 17 years old, Nancy was working as a model and an usher. She explained that she often worked very late and couldn’t find a way home. This made her walk long distances or even sleep on benches and rugs at event venues.
Even though her family was concerned about her safety—especially her dad—Nancy said she was determined to figure out life in her own way. According to her, trying to stop her only made her more rebellious.
During those tough times, Nancy said she once asked singer Yemi Alade for a place to stay. They had met through mutual friends, and she reached out for help.
Yemi Alade didn’t hesitate. She allowed Nancy to stay with her for several weeks and never complained. Nancy said it was a peaceful and safe place, and she felt truly welcomed.
Nancy thanked Yemi for her kindness and said she still holds a special place in her heart for the singer. She described Yemi as kind, peaceful, and full of good energy.
After Nancy got into university, she was able to get her own apartment, which happened to be in the same building as Yemi. Their bond grew even stronger from that point.
She ended her message with a sweet shoutout: “My friend Yemi Alade, I’m always here for you!”
