China’s internet authorities have officially banned the adult content platform OnlyFans. They described it as a “Western disease” and accused it of spreading immoral values from the West. This is part of China’s larger plan to clean up its online space and push back against foreign cultural influence.

OnlyFans, known around the world for its adult content shared through subscriptions, had recently become reachable in China. Some people had started accessing it using VPNs and non-traditional payment systems after some online restrictions were relaxed late last year.

But with this new ban, the Chinese government has made it clear that it will not allow any loopholes to remain. The country wants to fully block platforms like OnlyFans, which it sees as promoting values that go against Chinese culture and morals.
