Nigerian human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has called on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to release the evidence of sexual harassment she said she has against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Senator Natasha had earlier claimed in an interview on Arise TV that Akpabio made inappropriate advances toward her, which she said interfered with her ability to carry out her duties in the Senate. Her claims came after she publicly disagreed with the Senate President over a seating issue in the chamber.
Because of the seat reallocation conflict, the Senate suspended Natasha on March 6 for six months.
On Tuesday, she went to the National Assembly to resume her duties after an Abuja court ruled that her suspension was too severe and should be cancelled.
However, despite the court’s judgment, Natasha was not allowed to enter the legislative complex.
Reacting to the situation, Adeyanju posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying the time has come for Senator Natasha to release the evidence she mentioned earlier. He questioned what she is still waiting for and urged her to make the details public.
