Nigeria VS Ivory Coast (WAFU U-20 Final) Today At 8pm

Nigeria’s under-20 football team, the Flying Eagles, are preparing to face Ivory Coast tonight in the final match of the WAFU B U-20 tournament. The game will take place at the Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Ghana. It is expected to be a very tough match as both teams aim to become the new youth champions in West Africa.

Ivory Coast have been very strong in the competition. They have won all four of their matches so far. This includes a 2–1 win over Burkina Faso, 1–0 against Niger Republic, and a 2–0 victory over Togo. In their semi-final game against Ghana, they showed great determination by coming from behind to win 2–1.

The Flying Eagles also had a challenging journey to the final. In their first game, they drew 1–1 with Ghana thanks to a late goal from Mohammed Abdullahi in the 84th minute. They later came back from one goal down to beat Benin Republic 4–1. This result helped them finish first in their group.

In the semi-final against Niger Republic, the game ended without goals after 90 minutes. The match went into a penalty shootout, and Nigeria won 4–3. This victory secured their place in the final match against Ivory Coast.

Important officials, including WAFU B President Ibrahim Gusau, will be present at the final. Other dignitaries are also expected to attend as the region gets ready to crown its new youth football champions.

Coach Aliyu Zubair sees this as another chance to add to his growing achievements. He led Nigeria to win the same tournament last year in Togo and also helped the team qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup during the U-20 AFCON in Egypt.

Nigeria will rely on key players like Mohammed Abdullahi and Ezekiel Kpangu to lead the attack. However, Ivory Coast also have strong players such as Abdoul Bamba and Ali Kone, who have played important roles in their team’s success so far.
