The Nigerian Senate has made it clear that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from Kogi Central is still suspended and will not return to the National Assembly until after their current break ends in two months.
This update was given by Yemi Adaramodu, who speaks for the Senate. He shared this information during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday.
Earlier that same day, Natasha had attempted to return to her legislative duties in Abuja but was stopped from joining the proceedings.
According to Adaramodu, lawmakers should focus on serious national matters and not distractions. He mentioned that the Senate won’t entertain drama or content creation. He said the issue around Natasha has turned into a series of unnecessary scenes.
He stressed again that her suspension is still in effect and will only be reviewed when the Senate resumes sitting.
To recall, Natasha was suspended back in March 2025 for allegedly breaking Senate rules. This happened after she clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over sitting arrangements. She also accused Akpabio of sexual misconduct—an accusation he denied.
Despite her suspension, Natasha showed up at the National Assembly on July 22, 2025, trying to take part in the session, but she was turned away.
