Suspected terrorists attack immigration outpost in Niger State, k!ll officer and set his body ablaze

Suspected terrorists believed to be part of the ISWAP group attacked an immigration post in Niger State and killed a senior officer named Suleiman.

The attack happened on the evening of Saturday, July 19, 2025. The terrorists stormed the immigration post, which is located on the Babanna-Wawa road in Lumma Sanke, Borgu Local Government Area, and killed Officer Suleiman.

Reports from Daily Trust said that the attackers also burned Suleiman’s body and a carbine used by the officers at the outpost.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the attackers also hit a police border checkpoint located at Luma Ba’are in the same area. However, it’s not clear if anyone was hurt or killed at that checkpoint.

During the incident, several vehicles were destroyed. This included patrol vans, motorcycles, and personal cars owned by police officers.

Residents said that both the immigration post and the police checkpoint were attacked around the same time, making the situation even worse.

It was also reported that another immigration officer, identified as Ahmed, has not been seen since the attack. His whereabouts are still unknown.

Immigration officers confirmed that the outpost where the attack occurred is called the Luma Immigration Service Patrol Outpost. They said Suleiman was killed and his body was burned, while Ahmed has been missing since that night.

One of the sources expressed deep concern about the attacks. He mentioned that the terrorists hit both the immigration post at Luma-Sanke and the police checkpoint at Luma-Ba’are. He added that the increasing violence in the area is becoming too much to bear.
