A young Nigerian woman named Funmi Akindeko, who is an amputee, shared a funny post on social media about her love life and how she feels about her period.
In a post she made on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Funmi said she doesn’t stress over late periods anymore like many women do.
She explained that since she lost one of her legs, she has stayed single and isn’t sexually active, so a late period doesn’t worry her.
Funmi joked that she now handles late periods calmly because there’s nothing for her to fear — she’s not in a relationship or doing anything that would make her worry about being pregnant.
She added in Pidgin English, “Na person wey dey collect steady ponron go dey fear,” meaning only people who are regularly intimate have a reason to be scared when their period is late.
