Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has said he is not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He called the rumours about his defection false and said he is staying in the party.
He spoke about this on Monday after starting work on a 3.5km road project in Ila-Orangun. Adeleke said his goal is to serve the people, and he won’t stop working to make that happen.
Adeleke said he was happy that the Ila township road project had begun, especially given the current challenges Nigeria is facing. He said this shows his administration is still focused on delivering development.
He also said he had made a promise to both God and the people of Osun State to serve faithfully, and he will not be distracted from keeping that promise.
According to the governor, his administration has already completed over 175 kilometres of road projects. These include road repairs, rebuilding, and new constructions. He also mentioned that other road and flyover works are ongoing across Osun State.
One of the major roads he talked about connects several towns—Osogbo, Ikirun, Inisha, Okuku, Ijabe, and Ila Odo—which is on the border with Kwara State. The full road is 39km long, and he said it is a top priority for his government.
Adeleke said clearly that he was elected under the PDP and will not leave the party. He noted that the second part of the road project he is starting now is nearly the same length as what was done over the past 12 years, but he plans to complete it within just 12 months.
He ended by saying that nothing in life happens by chance. According to him, everything—past, present, and future—is part of God’s plan.
