Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor best known for his role in The Cosby Show, has sadly passed away.
According to a report by ABC News on Monday, the 54-year-old actor died on Sunday after he drowned while swimming off the coast of Costa Rica.
Authorities in Costa Rica confirmed that Warner died due to asphyxia (lack of oxygen) near Cocles Beach in the Limón area.
He had been caught in a strong rip current while in the water. His body was later found on Sunday afternoon.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner was born on August 18, 1970.
He began his acting career in 1982, making his first appearance in the TV series Matt Houston.
In recent years, Warner featured in the medical drama The Resident, which aired on the Fox Network.
