Nigerian activist Deji Adeyanju has sparked online debate with his opinion on the upcoming 2027 presidential elections. According to him, the only southern politician who stands a real chance of defeating President Bola Tinubu is former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a post shared on social media, Adeyanju gave his thoughts on the best possible ticket for the opposition. He suggested that a Jonathan-Kwankwaso combination might be the most powerful coalition. He also proposed another option: a young northerner paired with Peter Obi. Still, he stressed that no southern candidate could beat Tinubu—unless it’s Jonathan.
Adeyanju didn’t hold back his thoughts on Atiku Abubakar either. He believes Atiku is too old to inspire young Nigerians and that the opposition must win over the youth to stand a chance.
His comments have stirred discussions across social media, with many Nigerians sharing their views on who can truly challenge Tinubu’s chances in 2027. With the next election still two years away, the political drama is already building up.
