Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has taken a new wife. The woman, named Hiqma, is now his fourth wife.

The wedding was done quietly in Abuja last Saturday. Only close friends and family were present at the event.

Hafiza, who is Yahaya Bello’s third wife, shared the news online through her Instagram page.

She posted a video from the wedding and expressed gratitude to God for the new family member. She warmly welcomed the new wife, saying, “Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs Hiqma Yahaya Bello.”

According to Daily Post, Yahaya Bello already has three wives: Amina Oyiza, Rashida, and Hafiza Bello.

The news of the wedding caused a stir on social media. Many Nigerians questioned the timing, especially since Yahaya Bello is still under investigation.

A user on X with the handle @tboss_guy mocked him, saying, “The same person who claimed he was sick and needed to go abroad for treatment. Where did he get the energy to marry another wife?”

Another user, @uhl_moving, criticized his performance as governor. “Kogi State has suffered under poor leadership. With its location and resources, it should be doing far better.”

@realkaykerry also commented, “I thought the EFCC was searching for him?”

@TheHeroNG joked, “So his ‘potassium deficiency’ and ‘mild hypertension’ have been cured? Is this marriage part of his medical treatment?”

@Shoremekunjuli1 added, “Someone who should be in prison is instead having a wedding. This says a lot about our country.”

And @freshwealt95610 said, “The man who claimed he needed to travel for medical care is now active enough to marry. He probably just wants to travel abroad to enjoy life.”
