The Federal Government has said that Kano State may experience flooding between July 16 and 20, 2025. This warning was made to help people prepare ahead of time for possible heavy rainfall in the state.
The alert was shared by the National Flood Early Warning Center, which works under the Federal Ministry of Environment. They released this warning on Wednesday to inform the public and state authorities.
According to the warning, several places in Kano State could be affected. These places include Kunchi, Kano city, Gezawa, Wudil, Bebeji, Sumaila, and Tudun Wada. These areas are expected to see heavy rain that might lead to flooding.
Usman Abdullahi Bokani, a top official in the Environment Ministry, has asked state officials and other important groups to take steps now to reduce any damage the flooding might cause. He advised them to act quickly and be prepared.
