Former Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has encouraged Victor Osimhen to think about joining the Saudi Pro League. He said it would be a smart move if Osimhen wants to make good money from football.
Osimhen’s future is still uncertain after Napoli turned down a €75 million offer from Galatasaray, the Turkish champions. Osimhen had a great season with the team, scoring 37 goals in 41 matches and playing a big part in their recent success.
Even though Napoli wants to keep him, no one is sure what Osimhen plans to do next.
While speaking in an interview with Echo Room, Ighalo advised Osimhen to consider going to Saudi Arabia now for financial gain. He said Osimhen can always return to play in Europe later on.
Ighalo shared his own story to support his advice. He explained how he first went to play in China to earn more, and later got the chance to join Manchester United at the age of 30.
His words reflect the new trend where top football players move to Saudi clubs for the money, then return to European teams later in their careers.
