Former nurse pays patient $3,000 to have her ex-boyfriend’s ‘p£nis cut off’ after breakup

A former nurse has been jailed for planning a cruel attack on her ex-boyfriend. She paid a patient $3,000 to hurt him after their relationship ended.

Karenjeet Kaur Warburton, who used to work as a nurse, gave money to a patient to carry out the evil plan. She wanted the man’s tongue and penis cut off and acid poured on his face.

The tribunal ruling was published last week, though the decision was made in March. Warburton has now been banned from working in the healthcare field for four years.

Julie Dick, a tribunal member, explained that Warburton approached a patient she thought would be willing to do something violent to her ex-boyfriend. That man was a senior police officer named Inspector Don McKay.

Warburton and McKay had dated from March 2020 to early 2021. But after they broke up, Warburton began planning the attack.

Between April and October 2021, Warburton gave a patient named Andrew Bown pictures of McKay and his house. She also gave him $3,000 to carry out the attack.

According to the tribunal, Warburton promised even more money if the job was done. She told an undercover police officer that she wanted McKay’s private parts and tongue cut off, acid thrown on his face, and his spine broken to cause paralysis or stop him from walking or talking.

Her plan only ended when she was caught and arrested by police.

She later admitted in court that she had tried to hire someone to cause serious harm. Warburton was sentenced to five years in jail, but she will only serve 16 months before the rest of her sentence is suspended.

At the health tribunal, she didn’t argue against claims that she had acted wrongly by asking a patient to hurt someone for her.

Because of this, she has been banned from working as a nurse or in any healthcare role for four years. The time she has already spent in jail will be included in that ban.

Julie Dick noted that Warburton is now in a very difficult situation because of her actions. She added that Warburton would have to apply again if she ever wants to return to nursing. But she would also need to go through many steps since she has not worked in healthcare for a while.

The patient who helped her, Andrew Bown, was also punished. In November 2022, a court sentenced him to three and a half years in jail. He was found guilty of arson, planning to hurt someone, and having dangerous tools meant for a crime.
