Some key figures from Nigeria’s opposition parties have visited the grave of late President Muhammadu Buhari to pay their respects. Among those who visited were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
The three men were seen praying at Buhari’s final resting place in Daura, Katsina State, just days after his burial.
Buhari passed away on Sunday at a medical clinic in London. He was both a former military ruler and a two-term elected president of Nigeria.
His remains were brought back to Nigeria on Tuesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima and Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu and other top government officials were present at the Katsina Airport to receive Buhari’s body.
From the airport, Buhari’s body was taken directly to his hometown in Daura, where he was buried with full military honors at his private residence.
Before Buhari travelled to London for treatment, Atiku, El-Rufai, and other opposition members had visited him at his home in Kaduna.
