Peter Obi’s exit from ADC could end his political career – Party youths

A group of young members in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised concerns about Peter Obi’s possible decision to leave the party’s coalition. They believe such a move could bring an end to his political journey.

The warning came through a statement on Tuesday. It was signed by Comrade Abayomi Bello from the ADC Youth Vanguard. The group said if Obi truly plans to leave because he might not get the party’s presidential ticket, it would be a bad decision.

They also questioned whether Dr. Yunusa Tanko, who made the announcement, truly spoke on Obi’s behalf. They doubted that Obi gave him permission to speak on such a serious matter.

The youths praised Peter Obi’s image as a leader who supports principles, young people, and national unity. They said leaving for personal reasons would not match the values he is known for.

They also reminded Nigerians that Peter Obi has moved between parties several times—first from APGA to PDP, then to Labour Party, and now ADC. Leaving again might make people think he only cares about his political future.

According to the group, coalitions take time, teamwork, and commitment. They warned that leaving too quickly could make Obi lose the trust of his fans, break important alliances, and upset many young Nigerians who want a united opposition.

Instead of walking away, the group urged Obi to stay and lead from within the ADC. They said he should help guide young leaders and help shape the party’s future.

They added that by staying, Obi could build a lasting political legacy. But leaving now might lead to him being sidelined in Nigerian politics.
