Vice President Kashim Shettima and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, have left Abuja for London. This follows President Bola Tinubu’s instructions to bring back the body of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to DAILY POST, Buhari passed away on Sunday in London around 4:30 pm. He had been sick, though his illness was not made public.
Buhari’s burial is planned for Monday (today) in his hometown, Daura, which is in Katsina State.
Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, who works as a senior media aide in the Vice President’s office, confirmed on Sunday night that Shettima and Gbajabiamila had left for London.
Muhammadu Buhari was 82 years old when he died. He served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023. Before that, he was Nigeria’s military leader between January 1984 and August 1985.
