Former Nigerian footballer, John Mikel Obi, believes Chelsea has what it takes to shock Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the 2025 Club World Cup this Sunday.

Chelsea and PSG will face off in New Jersey, both hoping to win the first-ever expanded edition of the Club World Cup.

PSG got to the final after thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals. Chelsea also secured their place by defeating Fluminense 2-0.

PSG are the favourites to win the trophy. They’ve already had an amazing season, winning three major titles under their coach Luis Enrique.

But Mikel Obi thinks Chelsea can stop them. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said Chelsea is the one team that can challenge PSG.

According to Mikel, Chelsea is in good form and has a strong, young squad that can compete. He pointed out that Chelsea players are fast, strong, and energetic — the same qualities that PSG uses to beat teams.

Mikel believes these qualities give Chelsea a chance to win, even though many people expect PSG to lift the trophy.
