WAFCON 2024: Okoronkwo upbeat Super Falcons will beat Botswana

Super Falcons forward, Esther Okoronkwo, is feeling confident ahead of Nigeria’s match against Botswana in the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco. She says fans should expect more wins from the team as they aim to go far in the tournament.

In the last game, Nigeria defeated Algeria 3-0 in Casablanca, and Okoronkwo stood out with her brilliant performance. Even though she came off the bench, she assisted a goal and was named Woman of the Match.

Okoronkwo, who plays for AFC Toronto, is expected to play an important role in today’s match against Botswana. With her current form and energy, fans are hopeful she can help push the team forward again.

Speaking ahead of the game, she explained that the team is working hard to stay focused and improve their performance. “We are picking out the positives and fixing the things that didn’t go well. We’ll go back, watch the match videos, make corrections, and continue working as a team,” she said.

A win in today’s match would secure the Super Falcons a place in the quarter-finals, bringing them one step closer to lifting the trophy.
