Nigerian singer Terry G has finally broken his silence on the long-running claims that he hijacked the hit song Pass Me Your Love from fellow artist AY.Com.
Over the years, Terry G faced criticism for performing the song, even though it was originally released by AY.Com and featured Terry G. Many fans accused him of using the song as if it were his own because he regularly performed it at shows.
Now speaking out on social media, Terry G said those accusations were baseless and came from people who don’t understand how music collaborations work. He explained that as a featured artist, he had every right to perform the song.
Terry G also suggested that the constant backlash might have affected AY.Com’s music career, not anything he personally did. He said the controversy might have distracted people from supporting AY.Com properly.
He went on to call out critics, saying:
“To those saying I stole ‘Pass Me Your Love’ — that’s just ignorance. So I can’t perform a song I featured on? Many big artists do the same, but when it’s me, it becomes an issue. That’s double standards.”
Terry G also made it clear that he never added the song to any of his own albums. This, he said, shows that he never tried to claim full ownership of the track. For him, it was always a collaboration, not competition.
In his final comments, Terry G blamed the public noise for ruining AY.Com’s big moment, not his actions. He confidently added that no one can stop his shine or success in the music industry.
