Nnamdi Kanu murdered over 50 soldiers, 24 policemen, ordered burning down of Lagos – Omokri alleges

Social media commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has accused Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), of being responsible for the deaths of many security officers and civilians in Nigeria’s Southeast.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Omokri reacted to a recent comment by Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State. Obi had said that the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu “doesn’t make sense.” But Omokri disagreed strongly.

He claimed that he has a video recording showing Nnamdi Kanu instructing his followers to commit violent acts. Omokri added that in the same video, Kanu told his supporters to burn down Lagos State.

Omokri challenged Peter Obi’s comment, defending the trial and questioning why Obi hadn’t condemned IPOB’s violent actions and those of unknown gunmen in the region.

He said, “Peter Obi said Kanu’s trial doesn’t make sense. But I have a video—although we can’t show it here—where Kanu clearly tells his supporters to kill soldiers and destroy Lagos.”

Omokri further stated that after that video surfaced, over 50 soldiers were killed in the Southeast. He also mentioned the brutal killing and beheading of a military couple in Imo State.

He revealed that 160 police stations had to close in the region due to repeated attacks by IPOB members, unknown gunmen, and the Eastern Security Network (ESN). These attacks reportedly led to the deaths of 24 police officers.

Omokri ended by asking how anyone could say that putting Nnamdi Kanu on trial for such serious allegations is unreasonable.
