An aide to the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has made a strong statement ahead of the 2027 elections. Aghahowa Collins, who works closely with the governor, warned that no other political party apart from the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be allowed to display posters or banners in the state during the campaign period.

In a video he posted online, Collins insisted that Edo is an APC state and that anyone promoting a different political party will be dealt with. According to him, all political signs and promotions in Edo must be in support of APC only.

He also reminded people about what happened during the 2023 elections. Collins accused the former governor, Godwin Obaseki, of removing APC campaign materials, including those of President Bola Tinubu. He said that this same strategy will be used again in 2027 to make sure APC remains in full control of Edo State.
