Wizkid regretted insulting me for dropping song amid Endsars protests – Reekado Banks

Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has shared that Wizkid later regretted insulting him back in 2020 during the #EndSARS protests.

At that time, Reekado had announced the release of their joint song titled Omo Olomo. However, Wizkid was unhappy with the timing because it came during a very sensitive national protest. Wizkid harshly criticized Reekado on social media, calling him a “fool” and accusing him of seeking attention.

Reekado recently revisited the issue during an interview on The Esther Show. He explained that it wasn’t his personal decision to release the song during the protest period. According to him, it was his management team who pushed for the release, even though he didn’t fully agree.

He went on to say that Wizkid had visited his restaurant not long ago, and they both had a conversation. During the chat, Wizkid admitted that his reaction back then was harsh and said he regretted it.

Reekado added that Wizkid also talked about his actions toward music producer Don Jazzy. He said they both recently lost their mothers, along with another person in the industry, which made him reflect more on life and relationships.

Reekado ended by saying that everything is now settled between them, and they are on good terms again.
