A top aide to the president, Bayo Onanuga, has mocked members of a coalition group after reports surfaced that ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo may be planning to support them.

Bayo Onanuga responded to the reports by saying the coalition has no chance of winning. He pointed out that Obasanjo had backed opposition parties during the 2019 and 2023 elections, but they still lost badly.

According to Onanuga, the former president’s past endorsements didn’t change the outcome of those elections. He believes this new support won’t make any difference either and that the group is bound to fail once again.
