TCN counters AEDC, denies responsibility for Abuja power outage

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said it is not responsible for the recent power outage in some parts of Abuja. This statement comes after the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) had earlier blamed TCN for the problem.

AEDC had pointed fingers at TCN, claiming a “technical fault” from their end caused the blackout in areas like Dilic Hotel, Prime Plaza, Exclusive Stores, Gilmore, Takwa Crescent, and the Former Zartech area in the Federal Capital Territory.

However, TCN’s spokesperson, Ndidi Mbah, released a statement on Thursday saying the company has nothing to do with the outage in these areas.

In the statement, Mbah explained that the power lines (feeders) that supply electricity to these affected locations are working well. She insisted that TCN is not having any technical issues and denied the claim made by AEDC.

This back-and-forth between the two companies has left Abuja residents confused about who is truly responsible for the blackout in their area.
