I’m Afraid of Returning to Liverpool – Salah Reacts to Jota’s Death

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has expressed deep sorrow after the sudden death of his teammate, Diogo Jota.

Salah and Jota had been playing together since 2020, when Jota moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Liverpool.

Reacting to the heartbreaking news, Salah said he feels afraid to go back to Liverpool after his holiday break.

The Egyptian footballer shared these emotions in a touching message about Jota, who sadly passed away in a car crash on Thursday.

Reports say Jota was traveling to the UK when the vehicle he was in caught fire.

The tragic accident claimed the lives of both Jota, who was 28, and his younger brother, Alex Silva.

Over the years, Salah and Jota helped Liverpool win several trophies, including the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup. They also reached the Champions League final in 2022.

Jota’s death has left a huge void in the Liverpool squad, and Salah’s emotional reaction shows how much he’ll be missed

Salah wrote: “I am truly lost for words.

“Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me of going back to Liverpool after the break.

“Team mates come and go but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we go back.

“My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother Andre need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten.”
