EPL: Details for funeral of Diogo Jota confirmed

The funeral ceremony for Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, is now scheduled for 10am on Saturday in Gondomar, Portugal.

Earlier, a local priest, Father Jose Manuel Macedo, had said the funeral would happen by 4pm on Friday.

However, he later changed the announcement, explaining that the event had been shifted to Saturday morning instead.

According to the UK Mirror, the delay happened because of some minor paperwork problems that must be fixed before the family can bring the bodies back to Portugal.

Before the funeral service, a wake will be held at the Sao Cosme Chapel. The funeral mass will then take place at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, which is a Catholic church close by.

Diogo Jota, who was 28 years old, sadly died in a car crash in the early hours of Friday while traveling in Spain with his brother Andre.
