“I won’t leave properties for my children” – Veteran Actor Oga Bello says he invested in education instead

Veteran Nigerian actor Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, has said that he does not plan to leave houses or property for his children. Instead, he believes that the most important thing he can give them is education.

In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, he explained that he values education more than material things. Oga Bello, who has two wives and 18 children, said he made this decision early in life, especially after becoming a polygamist.

He chose to spend his money on giving his children a good education instead of saving up wealth or properties to pass down to them. He added that his own experience growing up without support for his education played a big role in how he raised his children.

Because he didn’t get much help with school, he wanted to make sure his kids had better chances. Some of his children have become actors, including his son Femi Adebayo, but he said he never forced them into acting. They chose it because they loved it, and he only supported them as long as they were doing well in school.

“I don’t want to leave any properties for my children. I just need two houses — one in Lagos and one in my hometown. If you meet any money in my account, share it. I’m passionate about education,” he said.

Oga Bello also shared some thoughts about what it’s like to grow old as an actor in Nigeria. He said many people don’t think about preparing for old age, especially in the entertainment industry. His story shows that he believes investing in education is the best gift a parent can give their children.

“Old age comes with challenges. Preparing for old age is personal. Here in Nigeria, we don’t take it seriously across professions. I invested in my children. In old age, they will take care of me.”
