Popular Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, better known as M.I, has opened up about a political decision he now regrets. He said supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2015 elections was a mistake.
Back then, M.I believed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was too corrupt. That made him support APC, hoping for change. However, he now feels let down by the party.
While speaking during a recent episode of the Menism podcast, the rapper explained that many people still bring up his past support for APC, especially when he talks about serious national issues like attacks in Benue.
He admitted, “Yes, I supported APC because I thought they would do better than PDP. I wanted Nigeria’s democracy to grow. But sometimes, even when you try to do the right thing, you can still be wrong.”
According to M.I, the APC today is not the kind of party he had hoped for. He said the party hasn’t lived up to the promises or dreams he had in mind when he gave them his support.
Now, M.I says he is more focused on making a difference by working with other young Nigerians. He wants to use his talent and platform to help build a better country.
