FCMB Opens New Branch at Sangotedo in Lagos

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has opened a new branch in Sangotedo, located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos. The official opening ceremony happened on June 26, 2025, and was attended by FCMB leaders and important community members, including traditional chiefs and local government officials.

During the event, local leaders showed strong support for the bank’s move. They believe this new branch will bring positive change and help businesses and individuals grow financially.

Chief Lukman Lawal, who represented the royal leader of Ogombo Kingdom, gave a warm welcome to FCMB. He mentioned that residents and business owners in the area really need more banking services. He also praised FCMB for always supporting people and companies in the past.

The chief added that the new branch would help create more business opportunities and improve the local economy.

Otunba Tunde Johnson, who represented the Olu of Sangotedo, also appreciated FCMB for coming to the community. He encouraged the bank to open even more branches in the area because of how fast Sangotedo is developing.

The bank’s National Head of Sales, Mr. Emmanuel Comla, and the Chairman of the Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, Hon. John Ogundare, were also present to launch the new branch.

Hon. Ogundare called the branch opening an important moment for Sangotedo and the larger Eti-Osa area. He said it shows that the area is growing and has great potential. He hopes the branch will improve the local economy and the lives of residents.

He asked FCMB to focus on supporting small and medium-sized businesses, saying they are a big part of creating jobs and growing the economy.

Mrs. Yemisi Edun, the Managing Director and CEO of FCMB, was represented at the event by Mr. Comla. He shared the bank’s promise to support the community with flexible loans for businesses and help more people join the formal banking system.

Mr. Comla also pointed out that Sangotedo is in a good location near big projects like the Lekki-Epe corridor, the Dangote Refinery, and the Deep-Sea Port. He said FCMB wants to help the area grow in a way that includes everyone and lasts long-term.

Mr. Ademola Idowu, FCMB’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, said the new branch runs on renewable energy. It is also part of FCMB’s digital system, with services like mobile and internet banking, reliable ATMs, and an easy queue system. A solar-powered backup makes sure customers always get service, even when there’s no power.
