Dalori assumes office as APC Acting Chairman days after Ganduje’s resignation

Ali Bukar Dalori, who serves as the deputy national chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), officially stepped in as the acting national chairman of the party today, June 30.

This change in leadership happened just a few days after Umar Ganduje, the former chairman, stepped down from the role due to health challenges.

President Bola Tinubu instructed Dalori to take up the role as acting chairman after Ganduje left the position.

Dalori will lead the party temporarily until the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) holds a meeting to officially choose someone to fill the spot left by Ganduje.

As soon as he took over, Dalori chaired the APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting on Monday to begin his duties in the new role.

Dalori said he doesn’t see the appointment as a personal success but as a duty he must carry out with full commitment, knowing the huge expectations of APC members and followers.

He also noted that this change in leadership should bring people together rather than divide them. He encouraged unity and asked other party leaders to support him during this transition.
