Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, had a conversation with his followers on X Space on Sunday night. During the session, he shared what he would do differently if he becomes Nigeria’s president in 2027.
He said: “We will do things differently in 2027. We will follow a non-violent approach and insist that the right thing will be done before the result announcement in Abuja. Our votes in 2027 will count, and we will ensure they count.
“Three things to follow up with in the first 100 days. Prioritize security, education and poverty eradication, cut costs and shun corruption.
“My family will not be involved in corruption. Funds to be channelled into key critical sectors.
“My Presidency will ensure there is a strong opposition in party politics. There will be no defection of elected officials to other parties when I am in charge.
“Imagine in this country, people are dying in Benue, Borno, and other parts of the country, and our leaders are commissioning Bus Stops and holidaying.”
Peter Obi said that within his first 100 days in office, he would focus on important issues like improving education, healthcare, security, and helping people out of poverty. He said these areas would be his top priorities because they directly affect the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
He also promised to lead the country in a new and better way. According to him, running a stable government is very important, and true leaders must be ready to make personal sacrifices for the good of the people.
Obi explained that he would only run for president again if the opposition coalition agrees to let him serve for just one term. That condition, he said, is important to him before accepting any offer to lead under a united opposition.
He also made it clear that there is no deal between him and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Obi denied any agreement for a joint presidential ticket with Atiku, saying nothing of the sort has been discussed.
