Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has invited anyone who wants to visit him to come to the Department of State Services (DSS) facility where he is being held.
He gave this open invitation after a Kenyan court gave its decision about how he was brought back to Nigeria.
Kanu’s special lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, revealed this information on Friday after his usual visit to see Kanu.
Back in June 2021, Nigerian security agents had arrested Kanu again and secretly brought him back to Nigeria—a process known as extraordinary rendition.
But on June 24, a court in Nairobi, Kenya, said that what happened was illegal. The court ruled that Kanu’s transfer to Nigeria without due process broke the law.
Reacting to the ruling, Kanu thanked his lawyers and family members for their role in securing the important court victory.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ejimakor said Kanu was very happy with the judgment from Kenya. He praised his legal team and his siblings. Kanu also said that anyone who is not sure about the messages being passed on through his lawyers can visit him in person at the DSS office.
