Renowned Kano business mogul, Aminu Dantata, d!es at 94

A well-known businessman from Kano, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has passed away at the age of 94.

His death was officially shared on Saturday, June 28, by his personal secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi-Junaid.

In a statement, Junaid said, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With sadness, I share that our dear father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died. May Allah forgive him and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. We will give more information about the funeral later, in sha Allah.”

Reports said the respected elder died in the early hours of Saturday in Abuja.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata was highly admired for his huge support for business, education, Islamic knowledge, and helping others.

He helped grow his family’s business, which started with his father, Alhassan Dantata, who was one of West Africa’s richest traders in the early 1900s.

Over time, Aminu Dantata expanded the family business into areas like construction, farming, banking, oil and gas, and manufacturing.

He also held top positions in both public and private sectors, and helped guide many young business people and leaders in Nigeria.

Born on May 19, 1931, he was active in many industries, especially real estate, oil, and finance.

He once worked with the Kano State Government and was part of the team that helped write Nigeria’s 1979 Constitution.
