Two feared bandit leaders have been killed by local vigilantes in Zamfara State. The attackers, known as Kachalla Maijikka and Me Dada, met their end in Garagi village, located in the Mayanchi area of Maru Local Government Area.

According to reports, the confrontation happened around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Vigilantes in the area engaged the bandits in a fierce gunfight and successfully took them down.

This action was part of increased local efforts to fight back against rising bandit attacks in the region. The vigilantes have been carrying out more surveillance and patrols to protect their communities.

One of the bandit leaders, Me Dada, was not only killed but also beheaded by the vigilantes. He had a history of violent crimes and kidnappings and was known for bragging on TikTok by flashing ransom money.

A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the incident. He also mentioned that another bandit leader was killed in the operation, bringing the total to three.

Makama added that security officers are still investigating the incident to find out more about the identities of the dead men and their links to other criminal groups operating in the area.
