Transfer: Everton, West Ham lead chase for Onyedika

Premier League sides Everton and West Ham are in a close race to sign Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika, who currently plays for Club Brugge in Belgium.

The 23-year-old has become a target for several top European clubs this summer, as teams look to strengthen their midfield lineups ahead of the new season.

Italian side AC Milan had earlier considered bringing in Onyedika to replace Tijjani Reijnders. However, Reijnders has now joined Manchester City, changing Milan’s plans.

Now, Everton and West Ham have moved ahead of other interested clubs and are said to be in a strong position to sign the Super Eagles star, according to Transfermarkt.

Club Brugge are demanding €30 million for the midfielder, which is a big increase from the €9.5 million they paid to sign him from Danish club Midtjylland in 2022.

Onyedika still has two years left on his current deal with the Belgian club, giving Brugge the upper hand in negotiations.

The Nigerian international’s impressive performances in Belgium have caught the eye of scouts, and a move to the Premier League could be the next big step in his career.
