Businessman, Simon Guobadia says he regrets marriage to Porsha Williams, claims he was targeted for ‘financial reasons’

Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, who used to be married to reality TV star Porsha Williams, has finally spoken about their divorce.

Simon shared his honest feelings, saying he deeply regrets getting married to Porsha, a star on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

He believes the marriage wasn’t real and that he was only targeted for his money.

During an interview with Page Six, Simon said he kept asking Porsha why she filed for divorce, but she never gave him a reason.

He added that he couldn’t reach her family either, making him feel completely left out and shocked. He described the situation as a “coup” and said Porsha had once warned he would feel that way.

After failing to contact her loved ones, Simon sent her a text message saying their relationship felt like a $5 million mistake.

The couple was only married for 14 months before Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024. She claimed she found troubling issues about Simon’s immigration status and finances.

Simon said they never discussed these problems before the divorce. He believes a married couple should talk about issues first before making such decisions.

He also talked about their very fast relationship, saying, “We got engaged in just 30 days. I must have been out of my mind.”

Porsha had earlier told People magazine that she got an immigration lawyer in January 2024 after discovering Simon’s legal problems. She also said things got worse on Valentine’s Day, and she filed for divorce shortly after.

Simon, who was recently deported to Nigeria for immigration offenses like bank and credit card fraud, insisted that they never had those talks she mentioned.

He strongly believes he was used from the start. He said Porsha reached out to him after his divorce from his ex-wife Falynn and comforted him, but he now feels it was all part of a plan.

Simon repeated, “Who gets engaged in 30 days? I must have lost my mind. And now, I’m paying for that mistake.”

After spending four tough months in ICE detention, Simon was sent back to Nigeria. A judge later ruled that Porsha would receive $40,000 in monthly support and live mortgage-free for up to three years, according to their prenup. Simon said he plans to fight the decision all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary.

He also spoke about Porsha’s daughter, PJ, and said he never had a close bond with her, despite what Porsha claimed. He criticized her for paying child support during his ICE custody, saying it was done just to make her look good.
