2027: Repeating 2023 mistakes – Igbo group decries Peter Obi’s attitude towards coalition

A youth group from the Southeast called Omenuko Ndigbo United has raised concerns about Peter Obi. They believe he is repeating the same actions that made him lose in the 2023 presidential election.

The group is worried because Obi is not showing much interest in working with other opposition politicians to prepare for the 2027 election. They think his attitude could weaken the chances of removing the ruling party from power.

In a statement released in Owerri, the group’s president, Benjamin Madu, said they are disappointed in Obi. He said Obi seems more focused on his own ambitions than on helping the country. The group believes that this is not the right time to play personal politics.

They also reminded everyone that during the 2023 election, Obi’s actions divided the opposition. That division, they believe, made it easier for the APC to win. They fear the same thing might happen again in 2027 if he doesn’t join the coalition.

According to the group, this coming election is very important for the Igbo people. They said since the current president is from the South, it’s a great opportunity for someone from the Southeast to aim for the presidency. But unity among politicians from the region is key.

The group also said Obi’s silence and lack of involvement in the opposition alliance look suspicious. They even wondered if he might be quietly helping President Tinubu and the APC by not taking part in the coalition.

They ended by saying that Obi needs to be open about his true intentions. His current actions, they said, are making people question whether he really wants change or has something else in mind.
