Former Real Madrid star Luis Figo has shared his opinion on why Kylian Mbappe may not win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Mbappe had a mix of good and bad moments in his first season with Real Madrid. Even though he performed well on a personal level, the team did not win any major competitions.

Figo, who once won the Ballon d’Or himself, pointed out that Mbappe’s chances are slim because he didn’t help his team win big trophies this season.

Figo explained that while Mbappe had a slow start, he later improved and did a good job adapting to Real Madrid’s style of play, which is very different from other clubs.

He added that Mbappe’s many goals and individual talent are impressive, but not winning titles with his team could hurt his chances of winning personal awards like the Ballon d’Or.

Still, Figo admitted that Mbappe is always seen as one of the world’s top players and remains a strong name in football.
