Nigerian social media activist Martis Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has strongly criticized the staff at Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos. He claims they refused to treat victims of a terrible accident brought in by compassionate Nigerians.
VDM explained that there was a serious accident on the Third Mainland Bridge. The crash left several people badly hurt, and some even fell into the lagoon and couldn’t be found.
According to him, some good-hearted Nigerians, including one of his friends, worked together to rescue and move some of the injured to Gbagada General Hospital for help.
However, VDM alleged that instead of rushing to save lives, the hospital staff focused on who would pay the medical bills. He said this was happening while some of the victims were in very bad condition.
One of the victims, a man, needed a blood transfusion urgently. But VDM said the hospital refused to help him unless ₦50,000 was paid. They managed to raise ₦40,000, but the hospital reportedly rejected it because it wasn’t the full amount.
Tragically, the man who needed the transfusion lost his life, VDM said.
He went on to blame the hospital staff for showing no compassion to the injured people who were brought in needing urgent care.
As of now, the hospital has not responded to these serious claims.
