Tinubu is gone, has 91 percent disapproval ratings in North, Southeast – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said that President Bola Tinubu has lost the support of most Nigerians. According to him, people are unhappy with how the country is being run under Tinubu’s leadership.

El-Rufai stated that 91% of people in the North and Southeast are not happy with Tinubu’s performance. He made this statement during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time show on Monday night.

Now a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), El-Rufai explained that Tinubu has failed in three major areas: security, economy, and trade. He said things have become worse in the two years since Tinubu became president.

He asked Nigerians to honestly think about their lives. If things have not improved since May 29, 2023, when Tinubu was sworn in, then it might be time to consider voting for someone else.

El-Rufai said polls were done in many parts of the country. In the Southeast and North, Tinubu’s disapproval rating was 91%, and in Lagos, it was 78%. Even in Tinubu’s home region, the Southwest, support is low.

He noted that in states like Ondo and Ekiti, Tinubu is doing a bit better, but still has a disapproval rating higher than 50%. El-Rufai said there is no place in Nigeria where Tinubu is truly popular anymore.

According to him, the economy has collapsed, and the security system is not working. There are no strong plans for trade or investment, and the country is heading in the wrong direction.

El-Rufai also questioned what the government is doing with all the money it is collecting. He said revenue has increased, but there is no sign of progress, and people do not see any positive results.
