The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has increased the cost of petrol. In Lagos, a litre now sells for N915, while in Abuja, it is N945.
This is a jump of N45 in Lagos and N35 in Abuja when compared to the previous prices of N870 and N910 per litre.
Other petrol stations are also selling fuel at higher prices. For example, MRS stations in Lagos, which are connected to Dangote refinery, have raised their price from N875 to N925 per litre.
These changes came after the Dangote refinery increased the price at which it supplies petrol to N880 per litre. On June 15, the refinery also announced a national plan to distribute petrol and diesel using 4,000 new tankers powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to help improve fuel delivery across the country.
