Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez throw lavish yacht party amid protests ahead of $20M wedding in Venice

Billionaire Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez have started their wedding celebration in a grand way. Instead of worrying about the growing protests in Venice, they held a fun foam party on Bezos’ $500 million yacht near the island of Cres in Croatia.

While protestors in Venice are getting ready to block canals and criticize Bezos, he and Lauren seemed relaxed and happy. They enjoyed the sunny weather and danced in soap suds with friends during the party.

Photos from the event showed Lauren wearing a black and red bikini, while Bezos kept things simple in blue swim trunks. The couple shared hugs and smiles as they enjoyed the party just days before their wedding.

The celebration also doubled as a birthday party for Lauren’s 19-year-old son, Evan. A birthday banner was spotted on the yacht, and young guests were seen jumping into the water, paddleboarding, and using smaller boats to go to and from the shore.

Other guests lounged in the sun. At one point, a police boat appeared briefly but left without causing any trouble or stopping the fun.

Bezos and Sanchez got engaged over two years ago on this same yacht near Cannes. Now they’re heading to Venice for their wedding, which is expected to last a week and cost between $15 and $20 million.

However, not everyone is excited. People in Venice have put up posters saying things like “No space for Bezos” and calling the city a playground for the super-rich. Some locals are upset and plan to disrupt the wedding events.

One protest organizer, Federica Toninello, told The New York Times that they have people secretly giving them details about the wedding. She claims a big event will happen at a place called Misericordia, but says they’ll do everything to stop Bezos from getting there.

The wedding is expected to bring about 200 high-profile guests from the worlds of tech, fashion, and entertainment. With both the luxury celebration and protests making headlines, all eyes are now on Venice.
