Fomer Man.U star, Paul Pogba ‘agrees two-year deal to join Monaco after 18-month doping ban’

Paul Pogba is set to return to professional football after agreeing to a two-year contract with Monaco. This comes after serving an 18-month ban for a doping violation. Pogba, who previously played for Manchester United and Juventus, had originally received a four-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance.

However, his punishment was later reduced when the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that he had unknowingly taken the substance DHEA. The court also stated that the substance mainly affects women and likely had no performance benefit for him.

Pogba’s ban ended earlier this year, and since then, there has been speculation about which club he might join. According to the French news outlet Le Parisien, Pogba has now reached an agreement with Monaco.

The report said that he made big financial sacrifices to make the deal possible, accepting a much lower salary than he previously earned, just so he could return to the game. Talks between Pogba and Monaco’s management had gone on for several days before they finally agreed on the terms.

Earlier in June, Pogba traveled to Monaco to meet with the club’s top officials. He also began making arrangements for his move, including finding a home, hiring a driver, and planning personal security.

By joining Monaco, Pogba will also get the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League again, as the team finished third in the French Ligue 1 behind Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain. His move to Monaco marks a fresh start after a difficult period, and fans are eager to see him back on the pitch.
