Popular Nigerian comedian Woli Arole recently shared a message on Instagram, where he strongly criticized the actions of some student fellowship leaders in universities.
Arole was speaking about those who call themselves “Papas” and “Mamas” in university religious groups. He pointed out that these leaders are now telling other students to give them food items as part of a “first fruit” offering.
The comedian questioned this trend, calling it unreasonable and confusing. He asked why students should be giving food to their fellow students just because they are called leaders in the fellowship.
In his words, Arole didn’t hold back and called the entire practice “nonsense.” He seemed genuinely concerned that such actions are being accepted in religious student groups, especially when everyone is still trying to survive in school.
