Again, gunmen reportedly attack Sen Natasha’s home, one suspect arrested

The home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State was attacked again late Tuesday night, June 17, 2025.

Eyewitnesses said an armed man tried to damage the house by breaking its windows. However, local police, community vigilantes, and some residents quickly arrived and chased the attackers away.

One of the attackers, identified as Suberu Jose, was caught at the scene.

People in the area recognized Jose and said he had been part of similar attacks on the senator’s house in the past. This was reportedly his third time targeting the property.

Before police could take him away, some angry residents tried to beat him up, but security agents stopped them and took him into custody safely.

When he was arrested, the police found a machete and some charms with him.

Other attackers who came with him ran away with their weapons and are still being searched for by the authorities.

This recent incident happened just two months after a similar attack on Senator Natasha’s family house on April 15, 2025.

The senator’s media aide, Isreal Arogbonlo, confirmed the attack. He called for calm and asked people to support the law. He said Senator Natasha is committed to serving her people and shouldn’t be attacked for speaking the truth.
